Carlin Phillips has been a lawyer for 16 years and has devoted over ten years of his practice representing medical providers against insurance companies. He is a trial lawyer who has learned about insurance company practices in the "trenches" of litigation. He is the first lawyer in the country to file class action litigation to stop Silent PPO discounts taken by insurance companies and obtain class wide settlements for his medical provider clients. His law firm, Phillips & Garcia, P.C. litigates cases involving insurance denials and reductions on a routine basis for medical providers and consumers.
Mr. Phillips has been sought after by medical providers during contract negotiations to review PPO contracts for Silent PPO language. His knowledge in this area has also led to interviews and references in numerous industry magazines and periodicals such as the Managed Care Contracting and Reimbursement Advisor; Managed Care Contract Negotiator, Hospital News and Eli's Rehab Report.
Mr. Phillips has argued cases in both state and federal court in various states. He has successfully argued before the highest court in Massachusetts, the Supreme Judicial Court and has obtained jury verdicts for his clients with his highest verdict to date being a $1,850,000 verdict.

Mr. Phillips is devoted to improving his skills as a lawyer and has spent a great amount of time and effort learning the best courtroom skills. He is a 2000 graduate of Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyer's College, an elite school for trial lawyers. He obtained his law school degree in 1992 from the New England School of Law in Boston and his undergraduate degree from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts.
